Jimena had visiting Positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T. at Cambridge), the Mathematical Science Research Institute (M.S.R.I at Berkeley), and the Centre de Recerca Matemática (C.R.M at Barcelona), among others. She is author of research papers in Mathematical Logic, Set Theory and Artificial Intelligence.
Jimena obtained her Bachelor (1983) and Master's degree (1985) in Mathematics at the Universidad Simón Bolívar (Venezuela) with Honors; and her Ph.D. in Sciences with mention in Mathematics at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1989. She has 12 years of Music Studies including piano, harmony, counterpoint and composition at the Music School Juan José Landaeta, Caracas (Venezuela). She has also participated in short Management courses including "Creating value in a Company", IESE, Barcelona (Spain).

Innovation Director of Group AIA
Vicenç Gaitán obtained his degree in Physics at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in 1989 with Honors, and his Ph.D. in Physics at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in 1993
He was research Fellow at the High Energy Physics Institute, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (1987-1989). When he finished his Bachelores Degree he taught at the la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and became a member of the High Energy Physics Laboratory. In 1990 he joined the collaboration project between the Laboratory and the CERN, ALEPH.
Vicenç has taught courses on mathematical methods for Physics, Quantitative Mechanics and Experimental techniques. His research activity centered on processes of parameter measuring and coupling constants in the ALEPH research work, as well as on the neural network study and its application to High Energy Physics and related fields. He collaborated in more than eighty research papers about the ALEPH experiment.
In 1993 he joined the Innovation Area of Aplicaciones en Informática Avanzada. He has given an important drive to the development of forecasting systems based on neural network techniques, which are the foundation of a series of products currently commercialized by AIA. He has developed a steady task of new computation and optimization algorithm developments for a broad product range within the electric sector and for resource allocation within the railroad sector. He has also developed, for the energy daily market, computational algorithms based on Game Theory and on classical optimization techniques. In the finance sector he has collaborated with the optimization projects for cash distribution management and investment fund portfolios. In the Internet and Telecommunication area he has developed new user profile classification techniques based on navigation patterns, new algorithms for optimized content delivery and WWW simulation models. Now, he is involved in defining the next generation of tools for the incoming unwired-broadband Internet.
He actively collaborates in sales and management activities in the Innovation Business Unit, being currently its Director.
