Elcodrive and Polyphonic
In June Polyphonic HMI announced we were getting behind Boston band
Elcodrive. Since then the band has been featured in the Boston Globe,
an MSNBC news piece, they've signed with a national agent and have
recently they are a Top 10 finalist in the American Music Award 'New Music Award'. What does
that mean? Well, they are now being flown out to Los Angeles to perform
for an 'elite' panel of judges. The winner will ultimately perform live
on the American Music Awards. We will keep you posted as we get more
info...
Elcodrive have the goods. They sound amazing, they've got the look and
they're going places fast. Their CD, available in some parts of New
England and on the band's own website ( www.elcodrive.com) scored 7
mathematical hits. Start following this band now and you'll be getting
in on the ground floor. Big things are in store for them.
Here are the answers to some of the questions we put to the band:
How long have you been actively seeking a deal?
In the past 3 months Elcodrive has began actively pursuing a Major
Label record deal.
How has HSS helped you in this endeavor?
Hit Song Science's extremely positive results of Elcodrive's debut
release 'Somewhere Between Now and Then' has lead to interest and
intrigue from a variety of record label and media outlets. Since
receiving the report the band has been featured in The Boston Globe,
New England Cable News, and on the 11 o'clock NBC News in New York.
(reaired on MSNBC around the world)
How do you go about writing your songs?
Most of the songs begin with an idea which one of the members brings to
rehearsal. The band takes the idea and works from it; developing it
from a guitar riff, a bass line, a keyboard part, into a more complete
song. Over time the song takes form, the lyrics are completed, and the
band then decides if the new song lives up to their expectations.
In two or three paragraphs please explain why a major label should sign
you. Elcodrive's manager Josh Kampel answers:
Elcodrive is the complete package.
They have proven through a variety of songwriting contests, their HSS
results, and their ever growing fan base that they have the songs that
are necessary to win over listeners spanning all demographics.
Elcodrive brings a level of professionalism on and off stage that many
bands do not have. From the time that they load in to a venue, to their
impeccable live show, Elcodrive is always looking for ways to be more
efficient and improve their performance. Elcodrive writes catchy songs
that are made to be heard on the radio; close your eyes at a show and
you'll swear you were listening to their CD; this combination will
ultimately lead to Elcodrive's music infecting pop-rock fans everywhere
